Steve is President of Sun Life Investment Management, Sun Life Financial’s third-party institutional investment management platform. This includes the Bentall Kennedy Group in North America, Prime Advisors, Inc. and Ryan Labs Asset Management Inc. in the United States, and Sun Life Institutional Investments (Canada) Inc. in Canada. He is also responsible for the investment operations of Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada which supports the Sun Life Investment Management companies and manages the general account assets of the Sun Life Financial group of companies. Steve is a member of the Sun Life Financial executive team.
Steve joined Sun Life Financial in 2009 and has more than three decades of investment management and credit experience in North American and international markets. This includes extensive experience managing teams, portfolios and research across a wide range of assets and strategies, including public and private asset classes, derivative markets and liability-driven investing.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Virginia. He is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the Boston CFA society.
Randy is Chief Investment Officer of Sun Life Financial and heads the investment operations of Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada. He joined Sun Life Financial in January 2016.
With more than three decades of investment management expertise at highly-respected global financial firms, Randy brings strong experience to Sun Life. Since 2007, Randy has held several senior roles at Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management, most recently as Global Head of Insurance and Pension Solutions and as Head of Asset and Wealth Management for the UK region.
Randy holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering degrees, both in Electrical Engineering, from Cornell University. He also earned an MBA from Cornell University's Johnson Graduate School of Management, where he was a Lester B. Knight Scholar.
Tom Murphy is Head of Affiliate Development and Business Strategy at Sun Life Investment Management. In this role, Tom is responsible for driving the global business strategy for Sun Life Investment Management’s third-party institutional business. Currently, Sun Life Investment Management’s group of affiliates include Sun Life Institutional Investments (Canada) Inc., Bentall Kennedy (Canada) Limited Partnership, Bentall Kennedy (U.S.) Limited Partnership, Ryan Labs Asset Management and Prime Advisors Inc. The Sun Life Investment Management group of companies provide investment solutions to over 800 institutional investors.
Prior to joining Sun Life Investment Management in 2018, Tom was a Senior Partner at Mercer. During his 20 years at Mercer, Tom held numerous leadership positions including Head of their U.S. Wealth Business, U.S. DC and Financial Wellness Business Leader, U.S. OCIO Business Leader and European OCIO Business Leader. During his time with Mercer, Tom worked in Ireland, the UK and the U.S. and served on their Irish, UK, European, North American and Global Executive Investment Leadership teams.
Tom graduated from University College Dublin with a degree in Economics and Statistics and subsequently qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries. Tom also has an MBA from the Smurfit School of Business, Dublin Ireland.
Gary Whitelaw is CEO of the Bentall Kennedy group of companies. He joined Bentall in 1998 as President and Chief Executive Officer of Bentall's Investment Management group (formerly called Penreal Capital Management) and has led the company through over two decades of growth and change. Gary sits on the boards of all Bentall Kennedy entities and client funds, and is responsible for the performance and governance of all operating and investment groups. Gary also serves as board chair of NewTower Trust Company and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of WellTower Inc.
Prior to joining Bentall Kennedy, Gary held progressively more senior executive positions in several public and private real estate operating, investment and development companies active in Canada and the US. He also practiced as an Architect for several years at the outset of his career.
Gary holds a degree in architecture from McGill University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is past Chair of the Board of REALpac - Real Property Association of Canada and is a past director of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers. Gary is also a frequent speaker and panelist at industry conferences in both the U.S. and Canada.
Richard Familetti is the President and Chief Investment Officer at Ryan Labs Asset Management. Richard joined the firm in 2009 as a portfolio manager specializing in corporate credit and fixed income asset allocation, and was promoted to Director of Asset Management in 2013. He has experience with various investment strategies in all sectors of the fixed income markets employing a combination of fundamental and technical analysis.
Richard also leads the Ryan Labs Management Committee, which enables Ryan Labs to tap into each Committee members’ strengths, share day-to-day management responsibilities and to provide a cohesive view to the firm’s future direction.
Prior to joining Ryan Labs, Richard held positions at Halbis Capital Management as a hedge fund manager, Calyon Bank in proprietary trading, and Credit Suisse Asset Management as a Managing Director. Richard joined Credit Suisse as a result of the sale of a small, successful partnership called Brundage, Story and Rose, Investment Management. Before this, he traded mortgages, CMO’s, and ABS for Lazard Freres Asset Management.
Richard holds a B.A. from Hofstra University and an M.B.A. from Fordham University. He is a CFA charterholder.

Marc Tollefson is President, Head of Investments and Chief Investment Officer, Prime Advisors, Inc. Marc joined the firm in 2004, serving as a member of the senior executive team until 2018 when he was appointed President. Marc is responsible for Prime’s day-to-day operations, as well as its strategic direction and results, and serves on the firm’s Board of Directors. Marc also oversees Prime’s corporate investment process as Head of Investments and Chief Investment Officer, which includes evaluating securities and constructing and administering portfolios.
Marc has over 35 years of securities trading experience in multiple markets, including municipals, corporates, U.S. governments, agencies, swaps, money markets and futures contracts. Prior to joining Prime, Marc was the manager of long municipal portfolios for Quellos Fixed Income Advisors. Before Quellos, Marc was Vice-President and Head Bond Trader with GE Financial Assurance, where he managed a group of corporate bond traders positioned in both high-yield and investment grade corporates and executed over $30 billion in trades.
Marc holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Puget Sound.
Eugene Lundrigan is President, Sun Life Institutional Investments (Canada) Inc., a Sun Life Financial business that offers investment solutions to defined benefit pension plan clients and other institutional investors.
Previously, Eugene was Head of Business Strategy for Sun Life Investment Management, Sun Life Financial’s third-party institutional investment management platform where he had accountability for business strategy, product development, consultant relations and marketing. Eugene has over 25 years of experience in financial services and an extensive background in investments, investment governance, strategy and marketing. Following roles at the Bank of Canada, he joined Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada (Sun Life) in 1997 and has held a range of senior level positions, including Senior Managing Director of Canadian Public Fixed Income, various leadership roles in wealth management, marketing and strategy in Asia and head of the International Investment Centre that manages Sun Life’s relationships with investment managers around the world. Eugene sits on the Shaw Festival Board of Trustees and the Public Policy Committee of the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance.
Raised in Baie Verte, Newfoundland, Eugene has a Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University and an MBA (Finance) from McMaster University. He is also a CFA Charterholder and member of the Toronto CFA society.
